Calvary is a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. 

We believe that faith itself is a gift from God, and that this gift helps us trust in what God has done for us and, in turn, transforms our lives through the Holy Spirit to engage in our baptismal call.  This call is to draw near to God and God’s people, serve God with the entirety of our being, and work for peace and justice for all the earth.  

We believe that we cannot accomplish these goals on our own.  We cannot, through our own might, reason, or will, come to God or know God.  We affirm that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). However, we trust that God has revealed God’s love for us in Christ who frees us from the bondage of sin and opens to us the way to eternal life. 

We believe this is a free gift that God calls us to trust through the Holy Spirit.  Having encountered this gift of love in Christ, we are committed to sharing that same gift with others, longing for all to know this love that overcomes all brokenness in our lives and in this world.  This love draws us into community with creation and those around us, and we long to share this gift of community, support, and love with the whole world!  Since you are a part of “all” we long to share these gifts with you as well, and invite you to do the same!
